Islamabad: In a significant move to enhance bilateral relations, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have committed to deepen economic cooperation across various sectors including economy, agriculture, mining, and information technology. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and a high-level Saudi delegation led by Saudi Minister for Investment, Mr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions underscored a mutual aspiration to foster a prosperous future not just for both nations but also for the broader region and the Islamic World. President Zardari expressed his intent to transform the longstanding relationship into a strategic and economic partnership, thus bringing the two countries closer.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and appreciation for its Vision 2030, acknowledging the significant progress the Kingdom has made. From the Saudi side, Minister Al-Falih acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic importance and disclosed plans for substantial Saudi investments in Pakistan’s infrastructure and mining sectors, with 25 agreements set to be signed soon. These agreements are anticipated to herald a new era of economic collaboration between the two nations.
