Islamabad: Pakistan is looking to strengthen its economic and financial relationship with the United Kingdom, as highlighted by a recent meeting between Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to the UK, Tipu Usman, and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. Their discussions focused on exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister discussed the government’s efforts to diversify financing sources, expand access to international capital markets, and improve the country’s financial infrastructure. The minister also noted the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK to the country’s economy through remittances, investment, and commercial activities, particularly via platforms like the Roshan Digital Account.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with UK-based financial institutions and the private sector to further strengthen economic ties. The High Commissioner expressed Pakistan’s dedication to nurturing its economic partnership with the UK, recognizing the enduring importance and growth potential of this relationship.
