Pakistan and Oman Strengthen Anti-Terrorism Ties and Discuss Bilateral Relations


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has pledged Pakistan’s unwavering support to Oman in its counter-terrorism efforts. This commitment was expressed during a phone conversation with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion between the two leaders was extensive, touching upon the recent terrorist attack on Imam Bargah Ali bin Abu Talib in Wadi Kabir, Muscat. Both ministers stressed the need for concerted efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms. They also reviewed the broad spectrum of bilateral ties, including political, economic, defense cooperation, and cultural exchanges.



The conversation also highlighted Oman’s humanitarian support to Pakistan, particularly in facilitating the repatriation of deceased Pakistani nationals and caring for the injured in Omani hospitals. The upcoming visit of an Omani investor delegation to Pakistan was discussed, aimed at further strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. Furthermore, both leaders agreed in principle to continue high-level exchanges and work out mutually convenient dates for future visits through diplomatic channels.
