ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has welcomed Kuwait’s ratification of the Pakistan-Kuwait Defence Cooperation Agreement, marking a significant step forward in the defence relationship between the two countries.

According to Radio Pakistan, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of the agreement, originally signed in June 2023. Ambassador Tahir Andrabi, the ministry’s spokesperson, noted that the development underscores a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and deepening a security partnership that has its roots in the early 1980s.

The defence pact is expected to bolster institutional connections between the armed forces of Pakistan and Kuwait, reinforcing the longstanding defence ties both nations share.
