Islamabad: A high-level Kuwaiti delegation, led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah, Minister of Defence, and accompanied by H.E. Lieutenant General Khalid Darj Saad Al-Shriaan, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kuwait, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in Rawalpindi. The meeting focused on discussions regarding bilateral defence relations, security cooperation, and further strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.

According to Press Information Department, the “Protocol Agreement-2026” was signed during the meeting, marking a significant enhancement of the military cooperation framework established under the “Defence Cooperation Agreement-2023.” The new agreement includes provisions for the Armed Forces of Pakistan to assist the Armed Forces of Kuwait in various fields such as training, capacity building, and border management, among other areas of defence collaboration.

The agreement underscores the trust, mutual respect, and shared strategic interests that define the longstanding defence relationship between the two countries. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening this partnership in support of mutual security and regional peace and stability.
