ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to intensify their collaboration in the areas of counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, and the prevention of illegal immigration and human trafficking. This decision was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted the necessity of adopting a unified approach to curb drug trafficking and terrorism stemming from the Afghan border. Both ministers expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and boosting mutual trade. They also agreed on the importance of improving coordination mechanisms to enhance bilateral cooperation further.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan is prepared to expand its cooperation with Iran across various sectors. He acknowledged the significant efforts made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni towards fostering peace. Naqvi expressed optimism that these efforts would yield positive outcomes and contribute to regional stability.
