Islamabad: Five members of organized criminal gangs were arrested in a recent operation by the Islamabad Police Bhara Kahu Police Station. The suspects, wanted for their involvement in numerous street crimes and snatching incidents across the federal capital, were apprehended with the aid of modern technology and human intelligence.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the recovery of two cartons of cigarettes valued at approximately Rs. 200,000, cash, and a motorcycle used in the commission of the crimes. Cases have been filed against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in other unlawful activities and capture any remaining accomplices.

SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the continued efforts of the Islamabad Police in targeting gangs engaged in motorcycle theft, street robbery, and other crimes. He noted that these targeted operations have resulted in a marked decrease in motorcycle theft and street crime across the capital. Raza instructed officers to intensify their efforts against criminal elements and ensure that all offenders are prosecuted through thorough investigations and effective legal actions.

Raza also urged citizens to cooperate with the Islamabad Police by promptly reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the Police Helpline “Pucar-15,” to help maintain public safety and peace.
