Pakistan and European Union Eye Expansion of Business Ties

Islamabad: The European Union and Pakistan have significant potential to enhance their business relations, according to EU Ambassador Raimundas Karoblis. In an interview with Radio Pakistan, Karoblis emphasized the opportunities presented by Pakistan’s GSP Plus status, which allows duty-free access to EU markets and could boost Pakistani exports.

According to Radio Pakistan, Karoblis highlighted the EU as the largest market for Pakistani exports, with substantial possibilities for growth in the textile and garment sectors. He also mentioned interest from major European companies in investing in various sectors in Pakistan, such as mining.

Karoblis noted that a current forum aims to explore collaboration in areas like digital innovation, fintech, and sustainable logistics. On regional matters, the ambassador praised Pakistan’s role as a mediator between the United States and Iran, acknowledging its efforts in fostering global peace through diplomatic engagement with the U.S., Iran, and Gulf nations.
