Judicial Commission Approves Transfers of Islamabad High Court Judges

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the transfer of several judges from the Islamabad High Court to other high courts across the country. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, where the commission reached a consensus by majority vote.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s press release detailed the transfers, with Mr. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani moving to the Lahore High Court, Mr. Justice Babar Sattar to the Peshawar High Court, and Ms. Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz to the High Court of Sindh. Meanwhile, proposals for the transfer of Mr. Justice Arbab M. Tahir to the High Court of Balochistan and Mr. Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro to the High Court of Sindh were withdrawn by the members who had initially suggested them.

The commission also decided that any vacancies arising from these transfers would be filled through further transfers, rather than initial appointments, ensuring that these vacancies are addressed effectively within the judicial system.
