President Zardari Visits Mao Zedong’s Hometown, Pays Tribute to Revolutionary Leader

SHAOSHAN, China: President Asif Ali Zardari visited Mao Zedong’s hometown in Shaoshan, China, where he laid a wreath at the statue of Chairman Mao and paid tribute to the revolutionary leader. During his visit, President Zardari was briefed on Mao’s life and legacy by local officials.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari was received by senior party leader Li Jiyang and Zhang Xihui, Director of the Shaoshan Administration Bureau of Hunan Province. They provided insights into Mao’s early years in Shaoshan and the influences that shaped his political thought. The President was informed about the memorial institutions’ role in preserving historical material and promoting public understanding of China’s revolutionary history.

After the wreath-laying ceremony, President Zardari toured the Mao Zedong Memorial Museum. There, he viewed historical artifacts and exhibits that document key phases of China’s revolutionary history. He acknowledged Chairman Mao’s significant contribution to China’s struggle, unity, and development, emphasizing the importance of preserving historical sites to understand modern China’s evolution and progress.
