Washington DC, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Mohamed Nasheed, former President of the Maldives and Secretary-General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF), convened in Washington DC to discuss strategies to confront climate challenges. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s susceptibility to climate change and its active role in establishing the Loss and Damage Fund during COP 28.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions also addressed potential ways forward to tackle climate issues in vulnerable countries. Both leaders emphasized the necessity for sustained international cooperation and strategic planning to mitigate climate-related risks.
