NEW YORK: Pakistan and Colombia have reiterated their commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. This consensus was reached during a meeting in New York between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Colombia’s Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between the two leaders focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, education, defense, culture, and multilateral engagement. Both nations, currently serving as members of the United Nations Security Council, emphasized their shared interests and aspirations for a stronger partnership on regional and global issues.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar acknowledged Colombia’s principled stands on regional and international matters and expressed Pakistan’s intent to strengthen its collaboration with Colombia in international forums, particularly at the United Nations. The dialogue also touched on regional and international developments, with a specific focus on the situation in Palestine.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain regular high-level contacts and institutional engagement, aiming to deepen the relations between Pakistan and Colombia in the future.
