Islamabad: A meeting of the Pakistan-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group took place at the Parliament House in Islamabad, focusing on the enhancement of parliamentary, economic, cultural, and diplomatic cooperation between Pakistan and Bulgaria. The meeting was led by Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the meeting was attended by key figures including Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate, and the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated, underscoring the significance both countries place on deepening ties. Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman highlighted potential areas for collaboration such as trade, investment, education, and renewable energy, advocating for regular exchanges and shared legislative practices.

The Bulgarian Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the discussions, emphasizing Bulgaria’s commitment to expanding cooperation. Ms. Misbah Khar suggested the possibility of a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize future collaboration, while Secretary Senate Syed Hasnain Haider reiterated the Senate Secretariat’s support for stronger institutional linkages.

Discussions included prospects for expanding trade, promoting academic partnerships, and enhancing cooperation in digital innovation and tourism. Both sides committed to developing a comprehensive roadmap to advance collaboration in education, economic development, and other mutual interests.
