ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bulgaria have successfully concluded the sixth round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad, focusing on strengthening political engagement and cooperation across various sectors. The discussions were led by Additional Secretary (Europe) Ambassador Ayesha Ali for Pakistan and Ambassador Petko Doykov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
According to Radio Pakistan, the consultations covered a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, defense, parliamentary exchanges, culture, education, information and computer technology, and people-to-people contacts. The two sides also shared perspectives on regional and international developments and cooperation at multilateral forums.
In addition to the consultations, Ambassador Doykov met with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Amna Baloch. During this meeting, the Foreign Secretary provided insights into Pakistan’s role in regional developments, particularly its mediation efforts in the US-Iran conflict. Both countries agreed to hold the next round of consultations in Sofia, Bulgaria, with dates to be determined through mutual agreement.
