Pakistan and Belarus Mark 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations

Islamabad, Pakistan and Belarus today commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties, highlighting a longstanding relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and constructive dialogue.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the celebration was marked by an exchange of congratulatory messages between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Belarusian counterpart, Sergei Aleinik. Ambassadors in Islamabad and Minsk also engaged in formal exchanges, presenting messages of felicitation to the respective Foreign Ministers.

The bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belarus have been significantly shaped by the Islamabad Declaration of the Pakistan-Belarus Partnership and the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation established in 2015. Over the years, the relationship has seen a steady growth with frequent high-level exchanges fostering cooperation in various sectors including economy, industry, and agriculture.

In his message, Foreign Minister Jilani lauded the positive development of bilateral ties over the past three decades and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to deepening this mutually advantageous partnership. Additionally, the two nations have further solidified their relationship through the conclusion of a Visa Abolishment Agreement for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, symbolizing the close ties and ease of cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.
