Pakistan and Bangladesh Pledge to Enhance Military Ties for Regional Stability

Rawalpindi: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to collaborate on promoting regional peace, security, and stability, following a high-level meeting between military officials from both countries.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the understanding was reached during talks between Lieutenant General S M Kamr-ul-Hassan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan. The meeting took place in Rawalpindi and focused on strengthening military relations.

Both parties highlighted the importance of insulating their partnership from external disruptions. General Mirza emphasized the shared vision for a secure and prosperous future, supported by strong defense cooperation.

Lieutenant General Kamr-ul-Hassan, who is visiting Pakistan with a delegation, praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and acknowledged their sacrifices in combating terrorism. The discussions also explored strategic interests and avenues for enhancing bilateral defense cooperation.
