Pakistan and Australia Emphasize Dialogue and Diplomacy in Regional Talks

MANILA: Pakistan and Australia have underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law as essential components in achieving enduring peace, stability, and security. This consensus emerged during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Australia’s Foreign Minister, Senator Penny Wong, held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between the two leaders centered on bolstering bilateral relations and reaffirming their commitment to enhancing cooperation through regular high-level engagements. The meeting also involved an exchange of views on regional and international developments, with both parties expressing concern over recent escalations in the area.

Furthermore, the Australian Foreign Minister recognized Pakistan’s constructive efforts in fostering dialogue and reducing tensions, highlighting the significance of collaborative approaches in addressing regional challenges.
