Islamabad: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has declared the security of Saudi Arabia, including the protection of Haramain al-Sharifain, as non-negotiable. This statement underscores Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to Radio Pakistan, General Chaudhry expressed these views in an interview with Independent Arabia. He emphasized that Pakistan remains steadfast in its support for Saudi Arabia, providing necessary assistance to ensure the security and stability of the region. He also praised the rapid development of the Makkah Joint Defence Alliance, noting its roots in the long-standing ties among the member countries.
General Chaudhry highlighted the establishment of the alliance’s General Secretariat and Strategic Political and Defence Committee as evidence of its operational readiness. He stressed that the alliance is purely defensive and founded on principles of mutual trust and respect. The collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in military domains, has been strong for decades and is expected to continue.
In response to inquiries about the scope of the alliance, General Chaudhry noted that it is open to any country that shares its vision for collective deterrence and regional stability.
