Islamabad, In a pivotal move to enhance humanitarian assistance in Gaza, Pakistan has expressed its support for establishing consistent and reliable safe routes for the delivery of humanitarian aid, including crucial medical supplies. This announcement was made during a special meeting of the World Health Organization’s Executive Board, which focused on the health situation in Palestine.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Nadeem Jan, the Caretaker Minister for Health, addressed the meeting, expressing gratitude towards the WHO and other stakeholders for their continued efforts in providing health services in Palestine, particularly under challenging conditions. Dr. Jan highlighted the escalating risk of infectious diseases in the war-torn areas, emphasizing the urgent need for unimpeded access to humanitarian aid.
The Executive Board of the World Health Organization, during this meeting, adopted a resolution that calls for prompt and unrestricted access to the Gaza Strip for humanitarian aid. This resolution underlines the critical need for medical supplies and assistance to reach the war-affected population, amidst growing health concerns.
