Rahim Yar Khan: A major joint operation by the Punjab Police in Rahim Yar Khan and Military Intelligence culminated in the surrender of Ahmad Bukhraani, a notorious dacoit with a bounty of PKR 10 million on his head. The operation, conducted in the Katcha area, marked a significant achievement for law enforcement agencies in the region.
According to Punjab Police, the surrender was the result of sustained pressure and an effective strategy employed by the police and military intelligence. The Government of Punjab had previously placed a bounty on Bukhraani, reflecting his high-profile status among wanted criminals. DPO Rahim Yar Khan, Irfan Ali Samo, highlighted the broader success of the ongoing operations in the area, noting that 24 high-profile dacoits with head money have surrendered to date. Additionally, during the Katcha operation, 66 dacoits have been killed, 101 apprehended while injured, and 320 have surrendered.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem commended the local police on their success and urged for an acceleration of operations against criminals in the Katcha region. He affirmed the commitment to continue indiscriminate actions against criminal elements to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
