Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, recently met with David Pine, the High Commissioner-designate of New Zealand to Pakistan, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations, trade, and investment between the two countries.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Pine congratulated the Finance Minister on Pakistan’s successful return to international capital markets and expressed appreciation for its progress in macroeconomic stability and economic reform. The meeting included discussions on strengthening business-to-business engagement, exploring formal trade agreements, and fostering private-sector interactions to boost economic ties.

The dialogue also touched upon the substantial number of Pakistani scholars in New Zealand and the potential for leveraging their expertise for Pakistan’s economic development. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous government and private-sector collaboration to build stronger trade, investment, and knowledge partnerships. Mr. Pine reaffirmed New Zealand’s commitment to deepening economic relations with Pakistan and supporting enhanced business engagement.
