Islamabad: The repatriation of Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan is proceeding swiftly, with nearly 950,000 individuals having returned to Afghanistan. Following the expiration of the government’s deadline for such residents to depart, over 13,000 undocumented Afghans left Pakistan just yesterday.

The overall number of Afghan nationals who have exited Pakistan now stands at 948,870. The government has intensified its efforts to address the issue of illegal residency. Legal actions are being enforced against those living in the country without proper documentation, including foreign nationals and holders of Afghan Citizen cards.

The Pakistani government has affirmed its dedication to ensuring that the repatriation process is conducted in a dignified and orderly manner. Officials have stressed that no person will face mistreatment during this operation.

Moreover, the government has arranged for necessary provisions, including quality food and healthcare services, to support those returning to Afghanistan, underscoring its commitment to a humane repatriation process.
