Rawalpindi: Lahore Qalandars secured a commanding 79-run victory against Quetta Gladiators in the fourth match of the Pakistan Super League 2025, held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Quetta Gladiators’ captain, Saud Shakeel, won the toss and opted to field, a decision that allowed Lahore Qalandars to set a formidable target. Batting first, Lahore posted a total of 219 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Fakhar Zaman led the charge with an impressive 67 runs off 39 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes.
Sam Billings contributed a crucial unbeaten 50 runs, supported by Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell, who both added 37 runs to the total. Akeal Hosein and Abrar Ahmed were the notable bowlers for Quetta, each taking two wickets.
In response, Quetta Gladiators struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and were bowled out for 140 in 16.2 overs. Rilee Rossouw was the top scorer for Quetta with 44 runs, while Kusal Mendis and Faheem Ashraf contributed 28 and 21 runs, respectively.
Lahore Qalandars’ bowling attack proved decisive, with Rishad Hossain taking three wickets. Sikandar Raza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Asif Afridi each claimed two wickets, ensuring a comprehensive victory for their team.
