Islamabad, In a concerted effort to combat drug trafficking, law enforcement agencies across Pakistan have intensified their crackdown on drug smugglers, leading to significant arrests and drug seizures.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the week-long operation from January 21st to January 28th resulted in the arrest of fifty individuals and the confiscation of 1,760.18 kilograms of narcotics nationwide. The seizures included 165 kilograms of drugs from Balochistan, 1,331.229 kilograms from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 125.79 kilograms from Gilgit, 115.67 kilograms from Punjab, and 22.498 kilograms from Sindh.
The Ministry underscored the commitment of law enforcement agencies to sustain their successful anti-narcotics operations, aiming to rid the country of the drug menace. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure national security and public health by targeting the networks involved in drug smuggling.
