Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a significant achievement in its toll plaza auctions for the fiscal year 2026-27, generating a substantial revenue surplus of over Rs. 1 billion. The competitive bidding process, completed for 81 out of 93 toll plazas across the country, saw bids averaging 30% higher than reserve prices, demonstrating a strong public-private partnership. Major logistics firms, including the National Logistics Cell (NLC) and Ali Enterprises, secured key operational rights.

According to Press Information Department, the auction was conducted under the supervision of Sadaqat Ullah Akhunzada, GM (Revenue / ITS) NHA HQ, ensuring a transparent process. The highest monthly earnings were recorded at Jamshoro and Sangjani plazas along the N-5 highway, while Bewata and Nokundi plazas saw unprecedented bid increases of 880% and 154%, respectively. However, 12 plazas remain unawarded due to legal and administrative issues, with further auctions scheduled to address these outstanding cases.
