Nation Observes Eid-ul-Azha with Traditional Religious Zeal

Islamabad: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated nationwide with religious devotion, commemorating the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS). The day began with special dawn prayers in mosques, where congregations prayed for the unity and well-being of the Muslim Ummah and the peace and prosperity of Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, large Eid prayer gatherings occurred at central mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds in cities, towns, and villages across the country. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the main prayers were held at the Faisal Mosque and the Central Eidgah Sharif. Religious leaders emphasized the spiritual significance of the historic sacrifice, urging the public to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and charity by distributing Qurbani meat and fostering family unity.

President Asif Ali Zardari offered prayers in Nawabshah, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed in Lahore. After prayers, the ritual sacrifice of animals was conducted in remembrance of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). To ensure safety, the district administrations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi implemented comprehensive security measures and deployed teams for the collection and disposal of animal waste.

Radio Pakistan marked the occasion with special broadcasts dedicated to the spirit of Eid-ul-Azha.
