Lahore: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed authorities to launch an intensive crackdown on human trafficking networks and the illegal hawala-hundi financial system. He emphasized that all individuals involved in these unlawful activities must face justice, underscoring the government’s commitment to eradicating organized crime.

According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi conveyed these directives while presiding over a meeting at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Zonal Office in Lahore. The minister assured that the government is providing all necessary resources to FIA officers and personnel to enhance their operational capabilities. He urged FIA officials to escalate operations against organized criminal gangs and achieve concrete outcomes.

Additionally, Naqvi reviewed the progress of the FIA Zonal Office Upgradation Project and instructed relevant authorities to expedite its completion. The Director of the FIA Zonal Office Lahore provided a briefing on the ongoing upgradation efforts and the institution’s overall performance.

The meeting highlighted that in the past year, the FIA registered 1,670 First Information Reports (FIRs), completed 4,000 out of 5,000 inquiries, and arrested 295 proclaimed offenders. A decision was also made to replace outdated cameras at immigration counters at airports nationwide, a move aimed at bolstering security measures.
