ISLAMABAD: Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik has emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and integrated approach to disaster management in Pakistan, highlighting the role of modern technology in enhancing response mechanisms. Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, Dr. Malik underscored the country’s vulnerability to climate-induced disasters, including floods and extreme weather, particularly in the northern regions.
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister pointed out that Pakistan faces increasing risks from climate-related events, necessitating the use of advanced technology such as satellite systems, drones, and real-time data integration to improve disaster response. Dr. Malik reiterated the government’s commitment to adopting modern technologies and strengthening institutional frameworks to develop a resilient system aimed at safeguarding lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure from the adverse effects of climate change.
