Islamabad: The Islamabad Police successfully resolved the murder case of prominent businessman Aamir Awan within a mere 24 hours, as announced during a press conference held by Federal Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry, accompanied by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The swift action led to the arrest of all five members of the notorious “Bulletproof” gang, involved in the murder, from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the investigation was launched immediately after the incident, with 17 police teams set up under the supervision of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq. These teams conducted a series of operations, including 31 raids across Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The comprehensive investigation involved analyzing data from 257 cameras, 180 phone call analyses, the geo-fencing of six locations, and the interrogation of 93 suspects.

The breakthrough came with the arrest of the gang known for their use of bulletproof jackets during criminal activities. Among the arrested were two illegal Afghan nationals, and the police recovered heavy weapons and mobile phones. A case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is ongoing.

The Federal Interior Minister commended the police efforts, noting a significant reduction in crime rates in Islamabad due to effective policing. IGP Rizvi highlighted the case’s complexity and the role of artificial intelligence and digital surveillance in solving it. The case is set to be used at the National Police Academy as an example of combining traditional and modern policing methods.
