Moulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri Elected Chairman of Housing Committee


Islamabad: In a unanimous decision made at the Parliament House, Moulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, a member of the National Assembly, has been elected as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Housing and Works.



According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, the election process was overseen by Muhammad Mushtaq, Adviser (Legislation) of the National Assembly Secretariat. The nomination for Haideri’s chairmanship was proposed by Anwar ul Haq Chaudhary, an MNA and member of the committee, and was seconded by Zubair Khan Wazir, another MNA and member. The election saw Haideri receiving unanimous support from the committee members.



In his new role, Haideri received congratulations from various officials, including the Adviser (Legislation) and the Joint Secretary (Committees), who conveyed their congratulations on behalf of the Honorable Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Secretary General of the National Assembly. They assured Haideri of the Secretariat’s full support to ensure the committee’s effective and efficient functioning.



Haideri expressed gratitude to the committee members for their confidence in his leadership and pledged to manage the committee’s affairs with a spirit of consensus. The members of the committee, in turn, expressed their support for Haideri’s leadership and commitment to the legislative process. Dr. Tariq Fazal Ch., MNA and Chief Whip of the ruling party, also extended his congratulations and support to the newly elected chairman.



The meeting saw participation from several MNAs, including Anjum Aqeel Khan, Anwar ul Haq Chaudhary, Nelson Azeem, Hassan Sabir, and Zubair Khan Wazir, with some attending via online platforms. Senior officers from the National Assembly Secretariat were also present at the meeting.
