Islamabad: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has taken steps to withdraw the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Amendment Bill 2026 from the Senate as the 90-day deadline for its passage was nearing completion.
According to Press Information Department, the bill, upon the expiration of the allotted period, would have been moved to a joint sitting of Parliament, an event not expected to occur soon. To prevent any further delays, the ministry has opted to introduce a new bill to ensure a timely legislative process while maintaining the core objectives of the original proposal.
