ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has firmly denied the Afghan Taliban’s claims of conducting drone strikes against Daesh Khorasan in the border regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Ministry has labeled these assertions as false. The ministry’s statement highlighted that the Taliban, through various propaganda channels and official declarations, have claimed responsibility for targeting Daesh Khorasan using rudimentary drones in the aforementioned areas.
The ministry further emphasized that terrorist groups, including Daesh and over two dozen other organizations, operate from territories controlled by the Afghan Taliban. The statement accused the Taliban of issuing misleading statements to disguise their alleged support of terrorism impacting neighboring countries and the region, involving groups such as Daesh, Fitna al-Khawarij, and Fitna al-Hindustan.
Furthermore, the Information Minister stated that a rudimentary drone from the Taliban regime recently breached Pakistani airspace near the Shinko area of Khyber. The drone was promptly detected and neutralized by Pakistan Air Force’s air defense system.
