Minister Salik Advocates for Skill Development to Boost Global Market Competitiveness

Islamabad: Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, has directed the Workers Welfare Fund to focus on skill development initiatives to better prepare Pakistani workers for the global market.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his visit to the Workers Welfare Fund, Minister Hussain commended the Fund’s achievements but emphasized the necessity to fast-track the processing of welfare grants. He also proposed collaborations with international companies to establish advanced skill development institutes.

The Minister highlighted the global shortage of skilled workers, particularly in major economies like Saudi Arabia, Germany, Korea, and Japan, and urged Pakistan to capitalize on these opportunities by focusing on enhancing the skills of its youth. His directives align with the government’s broader strategy to enhance the welfare and development of its workforce.
