Minister Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Strengthen Ties with Australia


ISLAMABAD: In a recent meeting, Pakistan’s Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, emphasized the country’s commitment to enhancing its collaborative efforts with Australia, particularly in areas such as food security, climate resilience, water management, and crop improvement.



According to Radio Pakistan, this commitment was underscored during a meeting held in Islamabad with Dr. Suzie Newman, General Manager Partnerships at the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research. Both parties discussed the importance of converting research into practical solutions that are both scalable and oriented towards benefiting farmers.



The discussions also led to a consensus on identifying new research initiatives that are driven by demand and outcomes, aligning with Pakistan’s specific agricultural and food security needs. Rana Tanveer Hussain expressed appreciation for Australia’s enduring partnership with Pakistan, facilitated through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research.
