Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Bilal Azhar Kayani, presided over a consultative meeting with a delegation from Nestlé Pakistan, led by its Chief Executive Officer, at the Ministry of Finance. The meeting, which included senior officials and representatives from the Tax Policy Office, was part of the government’s ongoing efforts to engage stakeholders ahead of the Federal Budget for FY 2026-27.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions at the meeting centered around the taxation framework, regulatory environment, and measures to enhance efficiency, transparency, and ease of doing business within the consumer goods sector. The potential impact of policy reforms on market dynamics, documentation processes, and consumer welfare were also key points of consideration.
The delegation from Nestlé Pakistan provided insights into sectoral challenges and proposed policy measures to improve compliance, streamline tax administration, and increase transparency in pricing. Emphasis was placed on aligning fiscal measures with goals of strengthening revenue mobilization, while fostering a supportive business environment and protecting consumers.
Minister Kayani acknowledged the constructive nature of the engagement and reiterated the government’s dedication to an inclusive policy development process.
