Minister of Higher Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Praises Scholarships for Pakistani Students in Chinese Universities

Peshawar, Minister of Higher Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Meena Khan Afridi highlighted the importance of Chinese universities issuing scholarships to Pakistani students, particularly those from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that this initiative is commendable and expressed the province’s commitment to cooperating with the Chinese government in the field of education.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Afridi discussed the impact of these scholarships on Pakistan-China relations during a media interaction at the China Window, a Chinese cultural center in Peshawar. During his visit, Afridi toured various galleries, signed the friendship wall, and left comments in the guest book. He said that Pakistan-China friendship is an example to the world, and efforts should be made to strengthen it further. The minister noted that technological transformation would be a significant aspect of this collaboration, with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) playing a key role in the transfer of modern technology.

Afridi also praised the Chinese Cultural Center in Peshawar as a symbol of Pakistan-China friendship and lauded its Chinese language teaching program. He affirmed the provincial government’s support for promoting Pakistan-China relations, particularly through public engagement. He announced plans to improve the financial condition of universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, considering various measures, including adopting aspects of the Chinese education model.

Earlier, Afridi received a briefing on the China Window and was informed about the Chinese institutions’ enthusiasm for collaborating with the provincial government to promote education in the region. The provincial minister assured that full support would be given to initiatives that foster Pakistan-China relations.
