Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has reached out to Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaquat Baloch, following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in an effort to address public grievances and prevent a planned protest.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier communicated directly with the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer via telephone, urging the withdrawal of a protest call. As a result of this conversation, the protest was postponed. The Minister for Planning and Development confirmed that a meeting, initially proposed during the Prime Minister’s conversation with the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, will take place soon with mutual consent. The minister emphasized that providing relief to the public remains a governmental priority and will be explored further through mutual consultation.
