ISLAMABAD: The government is implementing strategies aimed at safeguarding the economic interests of farmers and ensuring the availability of agricultural inputs at affordable prices. This was announced by Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for National Food Security, during an event in Islamabad, where he emphasized efforts to guarantee fair pricing for agricultural produce and boost productivity.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of National Food Security is actively working to set the wheat price for the upcoming season. The Minister highlighted the approval of the national seed policy and the national agricultural biotechnology policy, which are designed to provide access to high-quality, climate-resilient, and high-yielding seed varieties. Additionally, the policy is set to modernize the agricultural sector. The Minister noted that the Prime Minister has approved the national olive policy, which has gained significant international recognition for the country’s olive industry.
