Islamabad: In a recent directive, Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the necessity for new highways to feature modern lighting, quality infrastructure, and well-developed rest areas. The announcement came during a meeting on the development projects of the National Highway Authority’s Central Region held in the capital.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Khan instructed authorities to use the Islamabad-Murree Expressway as a benchmark for future infrastructure development. He further mandated the completion of the six-lane work on the M-4 by the end of this year. The Minister also noted that construction on the Lodhran-Multan Expressway is advancing swiftly, with plans to commence the rehabilitation project of Baba Farid Bridge over the Sutlej River in the near future.
