Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of Muslims took to the streets in Magam, Budgam, on the final Friday of Ramadan, also known as Al-Quds Day, to show support for the Palestinian people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstration saw significant participation from women, with calls for the liberation of Masjid-al-Aqsa and an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. Protesters marched through Magam bazar, raising pro-Palestine slogans and condemning the Zionist occupation.
Public addresses during the rally criticized international silence regarding the situation in Gaza, where over 50,000 people, including children and women, have been killed by Israeli forces since October 2023.
The annual observance of Al-Quds Day, initially started to support Palestinian resistance, has gained recognition in various parts of the world, including occupied Jammu and Kashmir. For many rally participants, the day held both religious and political significance, linking their faith with advocacy for global justice and the liberation of Palestine.
