Massive Search Operations Lead to Over 4,000 Checks in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police, following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted extensive search and combing operations in the city, leading to checks on over 4,000 individuals in an effort to enhance security and combat criminal activity.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations took place over the past week, involving 48 grand search and combing initiatives throughout the federal capital. These efforts resulted in checks on 4,188 individuals, 1,829 houses, 93 hotels, 548 shops, 1,588 motorcycles, and 646 vehicles. Out of those checked, 221 individuals, including 21 foreigners, were taken to police stations for further verification.

In addition to the checks on individuals, the operations led to the custody of five vehicles and 133 motorcycles for verification purposes. Police also arrested individuals involved in illegal possession of weapons, recovering arms and ammunition from them.

IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized the continuation of these operations to eradicate crime and safeguard citizens’ lives and property. The police have called for public cooperation during these checks and encouraged reporting of suspicious activities to local stations or via the Pucar-15 helpline, underscoring the priority of citizen safety.
