Martyrdom Anniversary of Kargil Hero Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed Commemorated Across Pakistan


Islamabad: The 27th martyrdom anniversary of Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, a hero of the Kargil War and recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, was observed today with solemnity and honor across Pakistan. The nation paid tribute to his bravery and sacrifice, with memorial events including Quran recitations and prayers held in mosques nationwide.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari lauded Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed’s sacrifice, emphasizing that the blood of martyrs ensures a safe and dignified future for the country. He expressed that the legacy of the martyrs is a cherished part of Pakistan’s national identity. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, highlighting the courage and patriotism of Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed during the Kargil War, describing his actions as a source of pride for the nation.



Moreover, the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with other military leaders, commemorated the anniversary by honoring Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed’s courage and dedication. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the legacy of the martyrs and ensuring the defense of Pakistan’s sovereignty with the same spirit of valor and dedication exhibited by Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed in 1999.
