Islamabad Police Arrest 36 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime, the Islamabad Police have arrested 36 individuals involved in a range of illegal activities, recovering drugs and weapons in the process. The operation reflects the police force’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, 13 suspects were apprehended for various criminal offenses, leading to the seizure of 127 grams of hashish, 210 grams of heroin, 140 grams of ice, along with one Kalashnikov, one gun, and five pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, with investigations still underway.



As part of a broader campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams also detained an additional 23 criminals. The initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, underscoring a strategic crackdown to reinforce peace and security in the region.



SSP Security Operations Islamabad Suleman Zafar emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, reiterating that any threats to public tranquility will not be tolerated. The department calls upon residents to report suspicious activities through local police stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster collaboration between law enforcement and the community in eradicating crime.
