Rawalpindi: The funeral prayer for Major Hamza Israr, a 29-year-old who was killed while defending Pakistan in Mir Ali, was held at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi.
According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended the service alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister, Information Minister, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. Many senior military officials, both serving and retired, as well as soldiers and family members of Major Israr, were also present to pay their respects.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the importance of the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s martyrs in the fight against terrorism. He stated that these sacrifices strengthen the nation’s resolve and reinforce its commitment to a peaceful and secure future for Pakistan. He assured that the nation stands in firm solidarity with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies in their ongoing battle against terrorism.
After the funeral rites, Major Israr’s remains were transported to his hometown, where he will be buried with full military honors.
