Ali Pervaiz Malik Calls for Enhanced Energy Conservation to Safeguard Foreign Reserves

Lahore: The federal government has chosen to prioritize the protection of the country’s foreign exchange reserves over making popular decisions, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik announced during a ceremony in Lahore. To cushion the public from rising petroleum prices, targeted subsidies have been introduced.

According to Radio Pakistan, Malik highlighted the influence of global dynamics, particularly tensions between Iran and the United States, on petroleum prices. He assured that the government would provide relief to consumers once international petroleum prices declined. The minister underscored that even modest energy conservation efforts could significantly help in saving the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Malik further stressed the importance of cultivating a culture of energy conservation, urging the public to minimize unnecessary energy consumption, especially during the winter season.
