Islamabad: In a significant move against organized crime, the Koral Police in Islamabad have arrested five members of two street crime gangs, following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The arrests were made as part of a targeted operation aimed at curbing criminal activities in the region.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation utilized modern technology and human intelligence to apprehend the suspects. The police recovered stolen valuables worth millions, including 10 mobile phones, two motorcycles, cash, five pistols, and a substantial amount of ammunition. Among the recovered items were a mobile phone and purse, reportedly snatched from a foreign national.

The suspects have confessed to involvement in numerous street crimes and armed robberies across various areas of the federal capital. Legal cases have been filed, and investigations are ongoing to locate other accomplices. Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, reaffirmed the police’s commitment to continuous operations against criminal elements, underscoring the importance of safeguarding citizens’ lives and property. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities to local authorities or the “Pukar-15” Police Helpline for swift action.
