Kathmandu Marks Pakistan’s 84th National Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony


Kathmandu, The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu commemorated the 84th National Day of Pakistan with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony today. Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi led the ceremony, during which the national flag was raised and messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were shared, reflecting on the country’s past achievements, challenges, and the aspirations for peace and prosperity in the region, especially regarding the situations in Kashmir and Palestine.



According to Press Information Department, President Asif Ali Zardari in his message remembered the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made for achieving an independent state. He also prayed for the end of suffering of Kashmiri and Palestinian people. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s message focused on overcoming challenges like inflation and terrorism, aiming to position Pakistan as a beacon of peace, progress, and stability. Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar emphasized the significance of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s development and urged them to excel in their respective fields, asserting Pakistan’s commitment to the UN Charter and international law.



Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi highlighted the enduring spirit of the Muslim community’s resolution in 1940 towards making Pakistan prosperous. He also noted the strong Pakistan-Nepal relationship and the ongoing efforts to strengthen this bond. The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community in Nepal, friends of Pakistan, and officials from the embassy and their families, underscoring the shared history and continued friendship between Pakistan and Nepal.
