Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused India of employing rape as a weapon of war in its efforts to suppress the Kashmiris’ quest for freedom, highlighting the severe impact on women in the region. The unresolved Kashmir dispute, as per APHC, has turned women in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) into some of the most affected victims of ongoing state violence.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a statement in Srinagar, emphasizing that the global celebration of International Women’s Day holds little significance for the women of Kashmir. He underscored the harsh realities faced by these women, who continue to endure severe hardship under the presence of Indian forces. Their lives, dignity, and safety are perpetually at risk, he noted.

Despite facing relentless oppression, Minhas highlighted the resilience of Kashmiri women, who remain determined in their struggle for self-determination. Many of these women face challenging circumstances, with their male family members detained in Indian prisons. Nevertheless, their unwavering spirit of resistance persists, as they confront the adversities with remarkable fortitude.
