Kashmir Media Service’s Reporting Exposes Indian Atrocities, Faces Backlash

Islamabad, Kashmir Media Service (KMS), a prominent media organization known for its factual reporting on the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has come under fire from India. The Indian government is frustrated by KMS’s relentless coverage of human rights violations and atrocities committed by Indian forces in the region, leading to a campaign of propaganda against the media outlet.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India’s efforts to discredit KMS involve spreading false and fabricated news through its influential media channels, aiming to obscure the reality of its actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. KMS’s reporting has highlighted the excessive military presence in the region, with more than 1.1 million Indian soldiers deployed, imposing a heavy burden on the local population.

The deployment of such a large number of troops, including personnel from the Rashtriya Rifles, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and other forces, has led to widespread human rights abuses. The media service reports that the presence of military and police camps every 10 kilometers in the Kashmir valley has made life unbearable for the residents.

KMS’s coverage has shed light on the grim realities faced by the Kashmiri people, including thousands of disappearances after arrests, with many either killed or detained in torture camps. The issue of anonymous graves, with thousands identified across the region, remains a contentious point, with Indian authorities providing little to no information about the individuals buried.

Human rights activist Gautam Navlakha has been vocal about the existence of anonymous graves, challenging India’s attempts to deny such claims. Navlakha’s call for international intervention underscores the need for an unbiased investigation into the allegations of mass graves and human rights violations in the territory.

Despite India’s propaganda efforts, the international community, including the United Nations Human Rights Council, has recognized the serious human rights violations occurring in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Calls for an international investigation have been met with resistance from India, which fears the exposure of its actions to global scrutiny.

KMS continues to play a crucial role in bringing these issues to light, despite facing backlash and attempts at silencing by the Indian government. The service’s commitment to factual reporting stands as a testament to the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people and the need for accountability and justice in the region.
