Karachi: The Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, has declared vocational training for children of BISP-registered families a key priority during her visit to the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) Staff College in New Karachi. This initiative aims to enhance employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for these youth, contributing to both their family’s welfare and national development.
According to Press Information Department, Senator Khalid’s visit included a tour of the college’s facilities and discussions with the faculty on expanding skill development programs tailored to the needs of BISP beneficiaries. Director of STEVTA Staff College, Zarqa Saeed, presented an overview of the institution’s various departments and their contributions to skill training.
The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of government officials and educational leaders, including DG Sindh Zulfikar Ali Shaikh, Deputy Director Zulqarnain Haider Shah, and STEVTA’s Managing Director Manwar Ali Mathani, to support the integration of vocational training into the support provided to underprivileged families in Sindh.
